Then came he to Derbe and Lystra: and, behold, a certain disciple was there, named Timotheus, the son of a certain woman, which was a Jewess, and believed; but his father was a Greek:
Which was well reported of by the brethren that were at Lystra and Iconium.
Him would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
And as they went through the cities, they delivered them the decrees for to keep, that were ordained of the apostles and elders which were at Jerusalem.
And so were the churches established in the faith, and increased in number daily.
Now when they had gone throughout Phrygia and the region of Galatia, and were forbidden of the Holy Ghost to preach the word in Asia,
After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not.
And they passing by Mysia came down to Troas.
And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.
And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavoured to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the gospel unto them.
Therefore loosing from Troas, we came with a straight course to Samothracia, and the next day to Neapolis;
And from thence to Philippi, which is the chief city of that part of Macedonia, and a colony: and we were in that city abiding certain days.
And on the sabbath we went out of the city by a river side, where prayer was wont to be made; and we sat down, and spake unto the women which resorted thither.
And a certain woman named Lydia, a seller of purple, of the city of Thyatira, which worshipped God, heard us: whose heart the Lord opened, that she attended unto the things which were spoken of Paul.
And when she was baptized, and her household, she besought us, saying, If ye have judged me to be faithful to the Lord, come into my house, and abide there. And she constrained us.
And it came to pass, as we went to prayer, a certain damsel possessed with a spirit of divination met us, which brought her masters much gain by soothsaying:
The same followed Paul and us, and cried, saying, These men are the servants of the most high God, which shew unto us the way of salvation.
And this did she many days. But Paul, being grieved, turned and said to the spirit, I command thee in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her. And he came out the same hour.
And when her masters saw that the hope of their gains was gone, they caught Paul and Silas, and drew them into the marketplace unto the rulers,
And brought them to the magistrates, saying, These men, being Jews, do exceedingly trouble our city,
And teach customs, which are not lawful for us to receive, neither to observe, being Romans.
And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.
And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:
Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.
And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one's bands were loosed.
And the keeper of the prison awaking out of his sleep, and seeing the prison doors open, he drew out his sword, and would have killed himself, supposing that the prisoners had been fled.
But Paul cried with a loud voice, saying, Do thyself no harm: for we are all here.
Then he called for a light, and sprang in, and came trembling, and fell down before Paul and Silas,
And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved?
And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
And they spake unto him the word of the Lord, and to all that were in his house.
And he took them the same hour of the night, and washed their stripes; and was baptized, he and all his, straightway.
And when he had brought them into his house, he set meat before them, and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.
And when it was day, the magistrates sent the serjeants, saying, Let those men go.
And the keeper of the prison told this saying to Paul, The magistrates have sent to let you go: now therefore depart, and go in peace.
But Paul said unto them, They have beaten us openly uncondemned, being Romans, and have cast us into prison; and now do they thrust us out privily? nay verily; but let them come themselves and fetch us out.
And the serjeants told these words unto the magistrates: and they feared, when they heard that they were Romans.
And they came and besought them, and brought them out, and desired them to depart out of the city.
And they went out of the prison, and entered into the house of Lydia: and when they had seen the brethren, they comforted them, and departed.

  徒 16:1> 现在就教小孩子爱主,可能没有结果──你不同意?因为── 

  16:1 提摩太是新约圣经提到的第二代基督徒中的第一位。他的母亲友妮基和外祖母罗以(参提后 1:5 )都是信徒,对主很忠心,对提摩太有很大的影响。虽然提摩太的父亲看来不是基督徒,但他的母亲和外祖母仍然一样地对主忠心。切勿低估栽培小孩子爱主所带来的深远影响,提摩太是一个很好的例子。 

  徒 16:2-3> 其实提摩太不用行割礼,他这样做是没有信心吗? 

  16:2-3 提摩太和他的母亲友妮基来自路司得;友妮基大概在保罗第一次布道旅行时听过福音( 14:6-18 )。提摩太的母亲是犹太人,父亲是希腊人,对犹太人来说,他是一个混血儿,像撒马利亚人一样。保罗叫提摩太行割礼,以便消除犹太信徒对他可能产生的一些不满。提摩太不必行割礼(耶路撒冷会议已作出决定,参 15 章),但他自愿这样做,以便除去见证基督的任何障碍。有时候,为了帮助人接受福音,我们需要多走一步。

  徒 16:6> 神的旨意──是可以明了的…… 

  16:6 我们不知道圣灵怎样告诉保罗和他的同伴不要去亚西亚。可能是通过先知、异象、内心的感觉或其他途径。要知道神的旨意,不是表示要听见祂的声音,祂会用不同的方法来引导我们。当你寻求神的旨意时:( 1 )要确定你的计划与神的话一致;( 2 )听取成熟基督徒的意见;( 3 )检讨你的动机──这是你自己想做的事,还是神希望你做的事?( 4 )向神祷告,求祂按祂的心意来开路或拦路。 

  徒 16:6-9> 我往哪里去,我往哪里走,主都会带领?我要做的是顺服? 

  16:6-9 “耶稣的灵”是圣灵的另一个称号( 16:6 )。圣灵为保罗关了两次门,所以他必定想知道究竟应该往哪里去传扬福音。接着,保罗在一个异象中( 16:9 )得到确定的指引,于是,他和同伴便顺服神的旨意往马其顿去。圣灵会带领我们到正确的地方去,也会引导我们离开错误的地方。当我们寻求神的旨意时,最重要是知道神希望我们做些什么和到哪里去。 

  徒 16:10> 这里用了“我们”,有什么特别?这“我们”是作者吗? 

  16:10 这节经文用了“我们”这个代词,显示了路加福音和这卷书的作者路加参加了保罗、西拉和提摩太的队伍。这卷书以后大部分的记述都是路加亲眼见到的事情。 

  保罗到达马其顿 

  徒 16:12> 保罗这次造访的腓立比,和腓立比书有关系吗? 

  16:12 腓立比是马其顿的重要城市,保罗在这次到访中建立了一所教会(公元 50-51 年)。后来,大概是在罗马监狱时(公元 61 年),保罗写了一封信给这所教会,就是腓立比书。这封信措词温柔亲切,显出保罗对那里的信徒存着深厚的爱和情谊。他在信中感谢他们的礼物,又劝勉教会要合一,鼓励信徒不要因迫害而屈服。 

  徒 16:13-14> 保罗传福音给妇女,有人信了主,她是谁? 

  16:13-14 保罗顺服圣灵的带领去马其顿,他首先与一群妇女接触,向她们传福音。保罗永不会让性别或文化来妨碍他传福音。他向这群妇女传福音,其中一个很有影响力的商人吕底亚相信了,这就打开了这个地区的福音大门。在初期教会中,神常常在妇女中间并且藉着妇女作工。吕底亚是一个卖紫色布疋的商人,所以她可能很富有。紫色布疋是极昂贵的,穿着紫色衣料的一般都是官宧人家。 

  徒 16:14-30> 路加特别记下的这三个人,又没有共通之处,为何记下? 

  16:14-30 路加特别突出了保罗在腓立比传道期间成为信徒的三个人:吕底亚──极有影响力的女商人( 16:14 ),被鬼附的使女( 16:16-18 )以及狱卒( 16:27-30 )。福音影响了社会不同阶层的人,跟今天一样。 

  徒 16:16> 原来世界各地都有迷信的事,你知道这使女如何被使用为她的主人赚钱的? 

  16:16 在希腊和罗马的文化中,算命是很普遍的。人们会用许多迷信的方法来预言将会发生的事,这些方法包括讲解大自然的预兆,甚至与死人的灵魂接触。这个使女被邪灵附身,以说预兆、替人算命使她的主人们得到财利。 

  徒 16:17-18> 那使女所说的既是真的,不正好替保罗宣扬名声,保罗何用厌烦? 

  16:17-18 虽然这个使女所知的是来自污鬼,但是,她所说的却是真的。为什么污鬼要宣告有关保罗的事,为什么又会使保罗感到厌烦呢?假如保罗接受污鬼所说的话,在他看来便是把福音和邪灵的活动联系起来,这样便会破坏他所传扬的信息。真理与邪恶是不能混在一起的。 

  徒 16:22-25> 身在监牢仍歌唱,众犯侧耳静听,境况落泊,情景佳美;保罗他们难道不怨不怒? 

  16:22-25 保罗和西拉被脱去衣服,受鞭打,而且被收在内监里,双脚上了木狗。尽管他们是在这样不如意的境况中,却仍然赞美神,其他囚犯都在听他们祈祷唱诗。无论我们在什么境况中,都应该赞美神,别人也许会因为我们的见证而接受基督。 

  徒 16:24> 本是良民,被视为危险人物,你看他们的遭遇…… 

  16:24 木狗是由两块木板以铁夹子连起来制成的,留有仅可容足踝穿过的孔。犯人的脚放在下面的木板上,上面的那块木板盖下来,锁住囚犯的脚。有时候,囚犯的手腕和足踝都会上木狗。保罗和西拉没有犯罪,是守法良民,却被当作是最危险的囚犯,双脚上了木狗,以防逃走。 

  徒 16:27> 囚犯若逃了,禁卒就要自杀? 

  16:27 禁卒提刀想要自杀,因为若有囚犯逃走了,禁卒就需要承担那囚犯的罪刑。 

  徒 16:30-31> 怎样才可以得救?你也问过这问题?现在你可知道答案? 

  16:30-31 当那位禁卒知道自己的真正境况和需要后,就冒险去寻找答案;保罗和西拉简明地讲出福音的精义:当信主耶稣,你就可以得救(参罗 10:9 ;弗 2:8-9 )。当我们认耶稣为主,并信靠他,我们就可以得救了,我们的生命就会像那禁卒一样充满喜乐( 16:34 )。 

  徒 16:31-34> 单单一个人信,全家就可得救?其实关键是…… 

  16:31-34 保罗和西拉很看重家庭整体,因此他们帮助禁卒的全家都领受救恩。然而,并不是单靠禁卒的信心就使全家得救,他们全部都需要凭着信心来到耶稣面前,和那禁卒一样的相信主,这样全家才可以得救。祈求神使用你向家人介绍耶稣,让他们都可以相信主。 

  徒 16:37> 保罗也真是的,人家放了他们,他还不走,不怕再被下监吗? 

  16:37 保罗没有接受这个释放而离去,因为他想教训那些腓立比的官长,以及保护其他信徒免遭同样对待。那些官长查出保罗和西拉无罪,就释放了他们,这个消息会传开,表明信徒是不应受到迫害的。 

  徒 16:38> 听到罗马公民就害怕?还不是人一个,那些官长真…… 

  16:38 罗马公民拥有某些特权。这些腓立比的官长感到惧怕,是因为鞭打罗马公民是违法的,况且保罗和西拉并没受公正审讯。
